Having finished phase one of my trip I will be starting phase two on April 3, 2008. But first, here is the actual route I completed during phase one, From August 16, 2007 to March 15, 2008:
The trip took about seven months through 13 countries, and I rode about 8000 kilometers (5000 miles).
Phase two of the trip will will take me through Japan, China, Central Asia and the Middle East, arriving in Cairo in November, 2008. Then I will continue through East Africa south to Cape Town. Then, if I still have the stomach and money for it, I will go north along the coast of west Africa to arrive in Morocco by Sept. 2009.
Below is my planned route at this point for phase two. Note that I have to make a detour around Iraq. If the situation improves I will try to ride through it.
